Later Chief Pashu appeared at the scene and disrupted the occasion pointing out that he was not in any way tolerant of any opposition activities in his area except those for Zanu PF. Threat level: Low It was reported that in Gutu Central at Gutu Business Centre a group of Zanu PF supporters comprising Josphat Sarukore, Brian Munyoro and Patrick Chakabuda allegedly forced business people to close their shops. It is alleged that on 18 August the Zanu PF youths ordered all shops at Gutu Business Centre to close their businesses so that they could go to Makombo grounds to receive the late Masvingo Provincial Affairs Minister Shuvai Mahofa's body. It was also said that these Zanu PF supporters wanted everyone to attend the late minister’s funeral as well. All residents were allegedly asked to abandon their daily businesses on the days of receiving the body and funeral. One identified victim of this violation was Crispa Musoni who is said to be a MDC-T supporter. On the 28th of August, in Nkayi South constituency at ward 29, it is alleged that villagers who had been working under the food for work program had not received their allocation for 3 months March- May period. It is said that when they enquired about their dues from the Social Welfare Officer, Ishmael Makamba and Thabani Tshabalala (village head), they were only advised that they would be given in the next program since the remaining maize stocks were left for ‘campaigns’. Makamba and Tshabalala are on record of giving out maize to individuals that were not part of the food for work program. 20
