AUGUST 2017 instructed village heads to move around Nekati and Masembura villages collecting $1 contributions from each family. During the process, villagers without money were told to contribute food or risk not benefiting from government agricultural inputs or food aid programmes. In Mazowe South ward 16, an MDC-T activist Langton Magaso was evicted from his residence at Adura farm by a group of Zanu PF youths led by Love Kamwiyo. It is alleged that on 4 August, after laying to rest an old man identified as Vasoko at Adura cemetery, about 20 ruling party youths arrived at Magaso‘s premises in the company of traditional dancers who sang revolutionary songs accusing him of witchcraft. They named Magaso a wizard ordering him to pack all his belongings and leave the farm. When Magaso defied their orders, the youths forcefully entered his home and removed all household goods. The possessions were loaded in a vehicle which transported Magaso approximately 8km away where he was dumped. In a telephone interview Magaso’s son Stephen confirmed the incident. He reported that on 14 August his father was forced to relocate to his rural home at Madzviva village in Mount Darwin. It is alleged that on 5 August Zanu PF youths Luke Tomu, Musa Sande and Lameck Tirigu identified Vheremu wearing an NPP T/shirt and forced her to remove it 13
