The province hosted MDC Alliance president Nelson Chamisa who paid a surprise visit to
the disused Bhalagwe mine in Maphisa, Matabeleland South where Gukurahundi victims are
buried in mass graves.
From the reports, police officers and security agencies did not disturb the gathering but
ZPP recorded a case of intimidation where a Zanu PF activist identified as Nyabadzawa
allegedly told the Secretary General of Ibhetshu likaZulu, Mbuso Fuzwayo that he should be
careful with his life especially if he continues to meddle with the Gukurahundi issue.
In Plumtree town, an MDC Alliance member Julius Dube assaulted his fellow party member
for criticising the party leader, Nelson Chamisa.
