Maize seed being offloaded at Mashuma Business Centre in
Hurungwe West
On 23 October maize grain was distributed at Guzha Business
Centre ward 1 in Zvimba West through the social welfare
scheme. The targeted beneficiaries were elderly headed
vulnerable households and were given a 50 kg bag of maize
grain. It is alleged that the distribution was partisan in nature
as it was conducted and controlled by Zanu PF ward
In Buhera Central, ward 18, on 10 October, maize aid was
Councillor Machivei Makore. Five families aligned to Zanu
distributed by the Social Welfare Service Department,
PF from each village benefited. Two additional families from
Murambinda. It was reported that the Social Service

the maize to them discriminating against perceived opposition
supporters. It is alleged that the victims of the disctimination
included Rudo Chitembwe*, Petros Dzvifu* and one village
head Misheck Mavheneke. These were denied the maize aid as
they are said to be opposition MDC-T party members.
