Musokota summoned residents to a ruling party meeting
in Glendale at Rujeko shopping centre in ward 33. It is
alleged that at the meeting on 15 July Musokota said all
residents not aligned to the ruling party were at risk of
losing their farms ahead of the 2018 elections. He told
residents to attend ruling party activities to safeguard
their properties.

ZanuPF chairperson, Abraham Mhembere, and Bindura
South MP, Religious Matangaira, allegedly forced
villagers to attend a ZanuPF party meeting in Bindura
South ward 12. Mhembere instructed village heads to
assemble villagers by 9am on 15 July at Muonwe
township but they arrived at 3pm. This initiative left
villagers dismayed as they had abandoned their chores to
attend the meeting.
In an incident recorded in Mazowe North ward 27,
*Prince Mashunga, a grade three pupil was allegedly
denied his right to education at Forrester J Primary
School on 17 July. Schoolhead Takwana Ngoche and
School Development Council chairperson Rhoda
Chawawa sent Mashunga home on allegations of
outstanding tuition fees. Ngoche and Chawawa have
been accused of sending pupils home often and
disrupting their preparations for midyear examinations.

Residents from Chibvuti farm were forced to gather for a
meeting at SeedCo where Councillor Mike Marongedza
said he would send his own delegates with the help of
branch leaders to register names of those who have
ZanuPF membership cards for residential stands. At the
meeting that was held on 5 July in Goromonzi West,
ward 7 Marongedza said those without ZanuPF cards
would not benefit.
In an incident recorded in Mazowe west ward 15 at DRC
mining settlements owned by Haid Chatyoka, alleged
conflict between anti-riot police and illegal gold miners
resulted in violent skirmishes. It is alleged that on 19
July an anti-riot police unit was sent to raid illegal gold
miners at a site called DRC. The miners retaliated and
attacked police officers with stones and mining tools.
Some of the police officers and miners sustained
injuries. Police investigations are said to be in progress
although no arrests have been made.
Kagonda village head in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe,
Gladmore Nyamukapa forced villagers to buy exercise
books for ZanuPF youths. Names of people who would
contribute money towards national events, specifically
the forth-coming Heroes Day commemorations would
be noted in the books. On 6 July residents were each
forced to pay 50cents towards Heroes Day
commemorations. Nyamukapa told the gathering that the
president had given youths powers to crush all those
opposed to ZanuPF and would use violent means if
necessary. Benard Nyamukapa a delegate during the
