was harassed by Zanu PF youths when he attended Independence celebrations, which took place on 18
April at Rimuka Stadium. Ndoro was denied entry by Zanu PF youths. The perpetrators are, Elias Moyo
aged 27 and Cain Huni aged 34 . The perpetrators were instructed by Zanu PF party leaders to deny the
victim entry into the stadium. The victim was humiliated in front of people and dragged outside while
police were watching.

of During Independence celebrations, Chief Hozheri of Sanyati Mashonaland West is reported to have told
assembly and village heads to talk to their villagers who were involved in an accident on their way to a National People’s

Party gathering in Chinhoyi. The Chief is alleged to have said ‘it is not allowed for people in Sanyati to join
other political parties and attending their meetings’. Chief Hozheri has declared Sanyati a no go area for
the opposition and during the celebration he chanted Zanu PF slogans.

of In Kariba, Independence celebrations were held at Makande in Kariba rural. The organising member was
assembly and Clever Chitofu of Ward 2 who is the Zanu PF District Youth Chairperson. On the eve of Independence Day

the youth Chairperson went around forcing people to attend the celebrations. It was made compulsory for
villagers to attend the celebrations in Makande. Villagers were discouraged from attending the celebration
in Kariba Urban on the basis that they would be corrupted by MDC-T officials. Army trucks were deployed
and ferried people mainly from rural areas to Makande where celebrations were held.
