There have been several cases of social and economic rights violations to an extent where most people now believe that food aid and agricultural inputs that
are from the government and humanitarian organisations is for Zanu PF supporters exclusively. Cash shortages were also reported in some parts of the
province despite that bond notes were introduced by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to ease the liquidity crunch.

Zanu PF supporters thronged the house of ward 5 councillor in Chegutu West in protest of his criteria of distributing
food aid. The supporters included Miriam Mutisi who went on to insult the councillor’s wife and added that she would
report the councillor to Zanu PF district offices for failing to prioritise Zanu PF supporters in the food distribution.

MDC-T supporter, Murawa Chikowero, allegedly threatened to physically assault MDC-T chairperson, *Moses Chari,
for not following party protocol when calling for meetings in Mhondoro Ngezi. Chari was accused of notifying only his
friends about important events and not calling meetings at scheduled times.
A former MDC-T campaign agent, Wilfred Machirori, was allegedly barred from entering St Fernando Farm in
Chegutu West that is now occupied by a Zanu PF member known as Mutamamoyo. He had visited the farm with the
intention of visiting his uncle but some of the farm occupants who are Zanu PF supporters identified him and denied
him entry by virtue of him being an MDC-T supporter.
A former Zanu PF ward chairperson who has crossed floors to Zim PF was verbally assaulted and forcibly removed
from a residents meeting by Zanu PF activists that were led by new ward chairperson Leonard Maphosa. Those in
support of Maphosa’s stance said they cannot be at the same meeting with the former chairperson as he is now an
opposition member. The meeting was held at Rimuka Hall, ward 2 in Kadoma Central.

Onlookers had to restrain a Zanu PF youth, John Khumalo, after he allegedly physically assaulted 70 year-old
*Solomon Zinyemba at Milverton Farm in Chakari. Zinyemba had failed to get his pension from National Social
Security Authority and in a fit of rage started complaining about the government’s failures. That is when Khumalo
attacked him and warned him not to scorn the country’s leadership.
