It is alleged that police and army officers looted about 400 bags of 50kg maize during food aid
distribution at Entumbane Hall. 73 year-old *Dingani Mathe said he together with other
residents stood helplessly as the law enforcers left with bags of maize in full view of rightful
beneficiaries. Residents approached Entumbane Police Station to lodge their complaints but it
was to no avail as officers on duty said residents should present their grievances to the
responsible ministry’s officials.
A Zanu PF district official identified as Mr D.A Magura addressed Pumula residents that were
gathered for the distribution of rice donated by the government through the Ministry of Public
Service, Labour and Social Welfare. During the gathering at Methodist Village, Magura
announced that the food distribution programme was a Zanu PF programme therefore those
that benefit should vote for Zanu PF. It is alleged that each known Zanu PF supporter went
away with a 50kg bag of rice while others had to share a bag between five people.
It is alleged that in Bulawayo East at Mahatshula Business Centre, Zanu PF supporters took
over distribution of 50kg bags of rice that were meant for under privileged community
