It is said that five war veterans led by Newman Moyo harassed local villagers who had come

to receive their food handouts in Matobo South. The war veterans claimed that the food from
the Social Welfare was meant for Zanu PF members and those outside Zanu PF were to be
denied access to the food. It was however noted that those that couldn’t stand insults decided
to return home without receiving anything. Those that remained resilient were granted their
share after the intervention of the social welfare officer
