There was food distribution, which was being done by Mr Moyana and ward Right to Food councillor James Sithole targeting the aged. This program was allegedly politicized by the Zanu PF officials present with the councillor being one of the perpetrators. Some of the victims include Pinos Chingoma* aged 79, Martha Sigauke* aged 75, Kasikai Mapungwana* aged 68 and Patience Moyo* aged 80 and many other old people perceived to be opposition supporters. 20 March Right to food In most wards in Buhera West, partisan distribution of food has been reported. Many villagers go back empty handed in many food distribution processes. Notably in ward 5, the Zanu PF chairperson Mugove Magunda and ward councillor Jane Ziki are telling people that they should get assistance of food from the parties they belong to. On this particular day at Jaggers Township centre MDC-T supporters were denied food and told to go suck where they belong like ‘a calf sucking from a cow not a donkey’. These distributions are also characterised by Zanu PF party slogans before they are conducted. 30 March Right to food At Natview Park Hobhouse, Dangamvura Petronella Sibiya* was denied food aid which was being distributed at Natview shops. The reason for this was suspected to be political as she was said to be an opposition MDC-T member. This was perpetrated by one Denford Karidza who 27
